Hey, did you hear? The lions are here!

Lions have officially arrived at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. See them in their newly renovated exhibit, across the path from the tigers. Stay tuned for details!

I have to say I went this afternoon to see the Lions and I am impressed. I am very happy to have lions at a place I love to spend my weekends at. The details and info in the winter viewing area is great.

    Well Done!!!

i am very excited to take my daughter to see them this summer! just hoping the zoo is in a bit better condition than last year! she was three and expecting way more than what was there…. a lot of empty exhibits and not a lot going on ! anyways we will be making our yearly trip this summer and she’s quite excited to see the lions 🙂

      Great to hear Jennifer!
I think you and your daughter will enjoy the new lion exhibit, the new sea eagle exhibit and all of the changes about to happen in the zoo. Stay tuned for lots of exhibit changes in the coming months.

Safety issue (?) on the stair side entrance to the Lion exhibit. When entering the lion area on the left side of the stairs the handrail extends an extra 2 ft or so beyond the stairs onto the pathway and we have seen 2 collisions with the handrail already (one stroller and one little person).

Thanks for the heads-up. Believe it or not that extra length is meant as a safety feature(!) I will forward your concern to the Zoo Foremen and the Maintenance department right away. I hope you enjoyed the new lion building.
